SSP UK and Ireland has acquired insurance software provider IS2, expanding its presence in commercial product distribution and e-trading.

Financial terms were not disclosed. IS2 provides commercial lines policy administration and product distribution technology to insurers, insurtechs, managing general agents and scheme brokers.

Founded in 1996, IS2 focuses on digital trading tools for insurance providers looking to build or expand online distribution. The business was named in the Global InsurTech100 in 2025 and 2026.

Its products include Atlas, an API-first policy administration platform for embedded, direct and partner distribution models. It includes back-office functions, an underwriting portal, accounting tools and self-service features across the policy lifecycle.

IS2 also offers RAPID, a distribution system designed to help insurers place scheme products through channels including brokers, MGAs, software houses, digital banks and embedded insurance partners. The platform applies channel-specific rules, such as discounts and rating adjustments, without requiring separate versions of the same product.

The acquisition is the first major deal completed by SSP UK and Ireland since it became a standalone business. SSP provides software used by brokers and MGAs to write and administer personal and commercial lines policies.

Martyn Mathews, Managing Director of SSP UK and Ireland, said: "This acquisition is an important step forward for SSP UK and Ireland. IS2 extends our capabilities into product distribution and strengthens our position in the insurance software market through its advanced e-trading technology. It places us at the heart of commercial product distribution, working directly with the insurers, MGAs and scheme brokers that own and distribute these products.

"Our first major acquisition since becoming a standalone business demonstrates our ambition to grow - and it will not be our last. We are actively exploring further opportunities to expand our market presence, with continued investment in technology providing a strong foundation for long-term growth."

SSP is part of Vencora, which acquired the business in 2021. Vencora, an operating group of Constellation Software, owns software businesses serving banking, insurance and financial services markets across more than 70 regions.

Nathan Partington, Portfolio Manager at Vencora, said: "IS2 is exactly the kind of business we look to bring into the Vencora family: a specialist with deep domain expertise, a loyal customer base and a proven platform. Combining IS2's commercial e-trading and product distribution capabilities with SSP UK and Ireland's reach across brokers and MGAs creates a stronger proposition for customers of both businesses. As long-term owners, our focus is on giving IS2 a permanent home and the backing to keep investing in its platform and its people."

Under the terms of the transaction, IS2 will retain its brand and continue to operate under the leadership of Founder and Managing Director Simon Pritchard and the existing management team.

The deal also highlights continued consolidation in insurance software, as providers seek broader distribution tools while insurers and intermediaries look to automate trading and administration. Commercial and niche lines have been a focus as software groups look to support more routes to market and more complex partner arrangements.

Simon Pritchard, Founder and Managing Director of IS2, said: "For almost 30 years, IS2 has been at the forefront of insurance technology, helping our clients innovate, grow and stay ahead. Joining SSP UK and Ireland provides the scale and resources to do that on a much bigger stage.

"SSP UK and Ireland's reach across brokers and insurers, and Vencora's commitment to being long-term owners of specialist businesses, make them the right fit for our team and our customers. Customers will see the same team and the same service, and the IS2 team will continue its growth journey as part of a business with real ambition. It's an exciting next chapter for us."
