Oracle launches restaurant operations platform for chains

Tue, 31st Mar 2026

Oracle and NetSuite have launched Oracle NetSuite Restaurant Operations, a product that combines back-office functions for restaurant and hospitality operators.

The offering brings together inventory, procurement, scheduling, production, and cash management in a single system. It is aimed at operators who want to manage finance and operations data on a single platform.

Built for businesses ranging from single-site operators to global franchise groups, the product is designed to work with Oracle Simphony Cloud and other point-of-sale systems, enabling restaurant groups to consolidate information from multiple sources.

Back-office focus

Restaurant Operations is focused on administrative and operational tasks that are often handled in separate systems. The software is intended to give operators a central view of key performance indicators, reporting and trends across locations.

It also includes inventory and materials control tools, along with a revised user interface. Embedded artificial intelligence features are designed to handle repetitive tasks and provide analysis to help users identify patterns in areas such as inventory management.

The launch reflects a broader push by large software providers to sell more specialised tools to hospitality groups facing pressure on labour costs, margins and supply chains. Restaurant operators have increasingly sought to connect operational data with finance systems as they try to tighten stock control, improve scheduling and monitor site-level performance more closely.

Oracle said the product draws on more than 25 years of experience in hospitality and restaurant financial systems. The company presented the launch as a response to demand for more integrated software in a sector where operators often still rely on several disconnected applications.

Alex Alt, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Oracle Commercial Cloud Applications, outlined the company's view of the pressures facing operators.

"Restaurant and hospitality leaders are under pressure to drive operational efficiencies and do more with less, while delivering an exceptional customer experience," said Alt.

"Restaurant Operations brings together deep industry-specific expertise, leading technology, and data management in a unified platform with AI-enhanced workflows. With these AI-powered capabilities, restaurant and hospitality leaders can optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and unlock rapid innovation at scale in their Oracle Simphony Cloud or multi-point-of-sale (POS) environments," added Alt.

Data integration

A key part of the launch is the link between point-of-sale data and back-office records. Restaurant groups can use the system to combine information from Oracle Simphony Cloud and third-party POS products, with the aim of creating a single record of operational and financial performance.

That approach addresses a longstanding issue for restaurant chains, many of which have built up separate systems for purchasing, stock, payroll, scheduling and accounting over time. Bringing those functions together has become a priority for operators seeking tighter oversight across dispersed estates.

Brian Chess, Senior Vice President of AI, Product, and Technology at Oracle NetSuite, said the market has long depended on fragmented software.

"Restaurants have traditionally relied on a patchwork of systems to manage inventory, purchasing, finance, and other critical processes," said Chess. "Restaurant Operations brings the power of Oracle and NetSuite together in a unified solution with AI embedded across workflows to help automate routine tasks and surface operational trends. By connecting operational and financial data in one system, businesses gain real-time visibility into performance across locations, reduce complexity, and make faster, more informed decisions," added Chess.

The product will support localisation in more than 110 countries, 190 currencies and 27 languages.
