Remote tops G2's global employment platforms rankings

Fri, 12th Jun 2026 (Today)

Remote has ranked first across all four segments of G2's Global Employment Platforms category in the Summer 2026 reports: overall, enterprise, mid-market and small business.

It also took the top spot in G2's Mid-Market Grid Reports for Employer of Record and PEO Providers, and was named a Leader in 20 categories spanning payroll, multi-country payroll and contractor payments.

G2's rankings are based on verified customer reviews and market presence data from its software marketplace. The latest results come during a period of growth for Remote as competition intensifies among tools that help companies hire, pay and manage workers across multiple jurisdictions.

Remote describes itself as a global payroll and employment infrastructure provider. Its services include Employer of Record arrangements for companies hiring staff in countries where they do not have a local legal entity, as well as PEO services for businesses with a US legal entity that need support with state-level employment compliance while retaining the employment relationship.

Its operating model is built on owned legal entities, internal payroll engines and compliance teams developed market by market. The company says it processes billions in payroll annually with accuracy above 99%.

Customers can access Remote's systems directly or through integrations with HR software providers including Workday, BambooHR and Personio. It has also introduced Remote MCP, a Model Context Protocol server designed to connect tools and AI agents with its payroll and employment data.

The product provides access to information including contracts, compliance records and organisational structure. Remote says it is intended to reduce the technical work involved in connecting employment data to HR and finance systems.

Growth path

The G2 rankings follow a recent trading update in which Remote said its payroll business had grown by more than 300% year on year. That increase helped it pass USD $300 million in annual recurring revenue and reach cash flow positivity.

Remote says tens of thousands of businesses use its services for global workforce management. Customers cited by the company include Anthropic, Datadog and KFC.

It also says several HR software providers have selected its infrastructure for their own international employment products, including Workday, BambooHR and Personio.

The market for cross-border employment services has expanded as companies look for ways to employ staff internationally without setting up entities in every country where they recruit. Employer of Record providers have become a central part of that shift by taking on local employment responsibilities such as contracts, payroll, tax compliance and benefits administration.

PEO offerings have also grown in importance, particularly in the United States, where employment rules can vary by state. Businesses often use those services to manage compliance while keeping day-to-day control over employees.

Customer validation

G2's reports are closely watched in the software sector because they rely in part on user feedback rather than analyst opinion alone. Strong placements can help vendors strengthen their standing with prospective customers comparing payroll, HR and workforce tools.

For Remote, the breadth of the rankings across payroll, Employer of Record, PEO and contractor payments suggests growing traction beyond a single niche. The company has been broadening its pitch from a hiring tool to a wider platform for employment administration and payroll operations.

Job van der Voort, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Remote, linked the results to the company's operating structure.

"Leadership in global employment cannot be short cut," said Job van der Voort, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Remote. "These placements are the result of doing things the hard way, building owned entities, in-house payroll engines, and compliance market by market. Remote is the infrastructure the world's leading companies run on. For us, there is no clearer validation than recognition from the companies already running their global workforces on Remote."
