Midnite taps BR-DGE to expand payments infrastructure

Midnite has partnered with BR-DGE to support the betting operator's payments infrastructure.
The deal connects Midnite's sportsbook and casino platform to BR-DGE's payment orchestration system as the operator looks to broaden payment choice and support expansion beyond its existing markets.
Until now, Midnite had relied on direct integrations with payment providers in the UK and Ireland. That approach worked while the business was establishing itself, but growth created a need for a different structure for adding payment methods and connecting to more providers.
One immediate result of the partnership is the introduction of TrueLayer's Pay By Bank through BR-DGE's existing connectivity. Midnite is also implementing other alternative payment methods through the same platform.
BR-DGE will also provide access to additional payment service provider connections, allowing Midnite to add more processing routes over time. The platform includes transaction-routing tools designed to manage deposits and withdrawals across different providers, with the aim of improving acceptance rates, reducing costs and maintaining service availability.
Another part of the agreement is the use of BR-DGE Vault for centralised tokenisation. This is intended to let Midnite keep stored card details portable across processors, without requiring customers to re-enter payment information if processing arrangements change.
Growth plans
Midnite has positioned the change as part of a wider effort to align its payments operation with the rest of its mobile-led product. The operator, which develops its sportsbook and casino platform in-house, has raised more than USD $75 million from investors including Raine Group, Discerning Capital, Venrex, Makers Fund and Play Ventures.
Midnite is licensed in Great Britain and Ireland. BR-DGE's merchant base spans regulated markets including the UK, Ireland, North America, Europe and Australia, giving Midnite access to payment benchmarking and market data drawn from other gaming merchants.
That benchmarking is expected to inform how Midnite manages the trade-off between transaction costs, fraud controls, acceptance and customer experience in different jurisdictions. For operators in regulated betting markets, payment performance has become a more prominent operational issue as they seek to balance user retention with compliance demands and the complexity of local payment preferences.
Founded in Edinburgh in 2018, BR-DGE already works with betting and gaming groups including William Hill, LiveScore Bet, Betfred and Tombola. Its model centres on a single integration layer between merchants and multiple payment providers.
Executive views
Jacob Spencer, Chief Revenue Officer at BR-DGE, outlined the rationale for the move.
"Midnite built a strong platform on a single PSP, which worked well domestically but limited how quickly they could add new payment methods or move into new markets. Moving to an independent orchestration layer mitigates that technical debt in one step, giving Midnite the scalability they need to match their success and ambitions. BR-DGE's track record and data intelligence capabilities will augment and enrich our orchestration capabilities, enabling Midnite to direct every transaction to achieve optimal performance, even as their business evolves and grows," Spencer said.
Christian Huynh, Lead Product Manager at Midnite, said the operator wants payments to match the rest of the customer journey.
"At Midnite, we want every part of the experience to feel built different, and payments are no exception. We're focused on creating payment experiences that delight our customers, while building the flexibility to innovate quickly and bring the same great experience to new markets as we grow," Huynh said.
The partnership adds Midnite to BR-DGE's roster of gaming clients at a time when betting operators are reassessing whether direct provider integrations remain suitable as they expand across multiple markets and payment methods.
