KuCoin unveils AI Skills Hub to power smarter crypto
KuCoin has launched Skills Hub, a marketplace of modular functions that let AI agents access exchange data and selected crypto workflows through standardised interfaces.
It is positioned as an "open skills marketplace" compatible with mainstream AI agent frameworks and development environments. KuCoin said the model turns exchange functions into structured skills that software agents can call when users make requests in natural language.
Agent workflows
Skills Hub is part of a broader push by exchanges and crypto service providers to make products easier to use for individuals and professional trading teams. AI agents have moved beyond chat interfaces into tools that can execute actions across markets and data sources. That shift has increased demand for standardised building blocks that developers can plug into automated workflows.
KuCoin said Skills Hub lets retail users query crypto markets and exchange information without navigating complex interfaces. It also targets institutions, developers and quantitative teams building automated processes for research, trading and asset management.
At launch, the product focuses on data access and monitoring. Users can use natural language to access market insights, monitor signals and market activity, and query exchange data.
Future releases are expected to support deeper interaction scenarios, including wallet operations, on-chain insights, liquidity provision, staking, lending and yield strategies. KuCoin said the longer-term goal is a more unified flow across insight, decision-making and execution, alongside participation in broader crypto ecosystems.
Controls and safeguards
KuCoin emphasised security and control as AI systems gain the ability to initiate transactions. Skills Hub includes permission controls, credential isolation and sensitive data protection, along with execution boundaries and exception handling.
KuCoin said these features are designed for real-world deployment where automated agents may operate continuously, respond to market events and connect across multiple systems. The controls aim to reduce the risk of unauthorised actions and limit the impact of errors or unexpected AI outputs.
Skills Hub also targets a long-standing challenge in crypto markets: advanced workflows often rely on fragmented tools, separate data feeds and significant integration work. This creates a high barrier to entry for users without specialist knowledge. KuCoin said its approach packages complex functions into structured modules that can be deployed more broadly.
Executive view
KuCoin's Chief Executive linked the release to trust and user experience in crypto markets.
"AI is changing how people interact with the crypto economy, but the real value of technology lies in whether it can serve real users on top of infrastructure they can trust," said BC Wong, CEO, KuCoin. "Built on KuCoin's expanding ecosystem and broader crypto-native AI initiatives, KuCoin Skills Hub is designed to transform complex crypto capabilities into more intuitive, scalable, and usable modules - making crypto more accessible for everyday users while giving institutions and developers a more flexible foundation for the next generation of intelligent applications. We see this as an important step toward a more open, practical, and trustworthy AI-enabled crypto ecosystem."
