KINTO Join said it has saved more than 1.1 million miles of transport emissions across Europe since 2024, equivalent to more than 275,100kg of CO2.

In the UK, the total includes more than 200,000 miles of carbon emissions saved over the past two years, or 46,400kg of CO2. UK CO2 savings also increased six-fold in the past year, according to the company.

KINTO Join has facilitated more than 126,000 verified sustainable commuting journeys across Europe since 2024. It said that has removed 137,800 single-occupancy journeys from roads across the region.

The announcement points to rising activity in the UK, where the business is seeking to expand its customer base and plans to double it by the end of the year.

UK growth

The company works with organisations looking to cut emissions linked to employee travel, particularly so-called scope three emissions. Its offering includes the KINTO Join app and ZERO by KINTO, a combined consultancy and ESG reporting service.

Commuting has become a focus for employers trying to measure and reduce indirect emissions from their operations. Single-occupancy car use remains a major part of that challenge, particularly for firms with large numbers of employees travelling to offices, sites and industrial locations.

Shared mobility options such as carpooling, shuttle buses, cycling and walking can reduce emissions tied to those journeys, KINTO Join said. Moving away from single-driver trips can also help ease pressure on busy commuter routes.

The business was founded within Toyota Financial Services under the KINTO brand. It later widened its remit with the launch of ZERO by KINTO, introduced in 2025, according to the company.

Commute focus

The latest figures suggest the UK is becoming a more important market in KINTO Join's European operations. The company attributed the six-fold rise in UK CO2 savings over the past year to a growing customer base.

That growth comes as many employers face greater scrutiny over how they account for indirect emissions. Staff commuting is often harder to track than energy use in buildings or fuel use in company fleets, increasing demand for systems that can record travel choices and estimate emissions savings.

Patrizia Niehaus outlined the company's view on the issue.

"Organisations are constantly looking for ways to reduce their emissions, and yet the daily commute remains one of the most overlooked opportunities. Companies do not have to wait for large-scale infrastructure changes or flexible working mandates to make a difference. There are simple, practical solutions available today, from shared carpooling to shuttle buses, delivering real, measurable results.

"The numbers speak for themselves - people want to make a difference, and small steps add up. As KINTO Join Ltd. continues to expand its presence in the UK, we are committed to helping organisations of all sizes take meaningful action," said Patrizia Niehaus, chief executive officer of KINTO Join.
