AccountsIQ launches GoCardless integration for payments
Tue, 2nd Jun 2026 (Today)
AccountsIQ has launched a native integration with GoCardless, allowing mid-market finance teams to manage payments within the AccountsIQ platform.
The integration covers Direct Debit collection, reconciliation and cash allocation. It is designed to automate the full payment lifecycle, from collection through to matching funds against invoices.
Finance teams can send branded mandate sign-up emails from within the accounting system, and customer records update automatically once a mandate is completed. Using GoCardless webhooks, the setup gives teams real-time visibility into payment activity without requiring a separate login.
The link goes beyond passing transaction data between systems. It also records fees automatically and matches payments to invoices, reducing manual exports and checking work for finance staff.
AccountsIQ sells cloud accounting software to mid-market businesses and says it supports more than 35,000 users in more than 85 countries. Founded in 2008, the company is headquartered in Dublin and also has an office in London.
GoCardless, a bank payment company, says more than 100,000 businesses use its services to collect and send payments through direct debit, real-time payments and open banking. It says it processes more than USD $130 billion in payments each year across more than 30 countries.
Payment workflow
The announcement reflects a wider push by finance software providers to embed payment tools directly into accounting systems as companies try to reduce manual reconciliation work and tighten control over cash collection.
The focus here is on mid-market businesses, which often face more complex approval processes and reporting requirements than smaller companies but may still rely on teams moving data between separate payment and finance platforms.
"As a trusted partner to some of the largest accounting platforms in the world, we are experts in this space, which is why we're excited to work with AccountsIQ, an exciting disruptor in our market. AccountsIQ serves businesses that value smart automation and scalability. By embedding GoCardless directly into the platform, we are removing the manual admin of moving data between payment and accounting systems. This allows finance teams to focus on growth and strategy rather than chasing payments and managing spreadsheets," said Tom Metcalfe, Director, Global Partnerships at GoCardless.
"Our mission is to provide mid-market companies with the business intelligence and automation needed to scale. By creating a payment process that is audit-ready and easy to manage, we are giving finance teams a clear and accurate picture of finances. This level of accuracy is essential for scaling businesses; it removes the guesswork and provides the real-time insights needed to make informed strategic decisions. This integration doesn't just save time - it gives teams the confidence that the financial data is correct without having to double-check every entry," Darren Cran, Chief Executive Officer at AccountsIQ said.
The integration brings together accounting and payment processing at a time when software vendors are trying to centralise financial operations. For finance leaders, the challenge is often less about making a payment than ensuring the transaction, related fee and customer record all reconcile correctly within the ledger.
That is particularly relevant for recurring payments collected by Direct Debit, where finance teams need to track mandate status, confirm receipts and allocate cash accurately against outstanding invoices. Automating those steps can reduce delays in closing the books and lower the risk of discrepancies caused by rekeying data between systems.
AccountsIQ and GoCardless said the integration is intended to give businesses more control over how they collect and reconcile payments while keeping an accurate record of each transaction and the related fee data within the finance system.
